Two Cut Signatures Up

Two 2012 Topps Cut Signatures have been pulled and listed on eBay. The first was of Hall of Famer Nellie Fox and it actually already ended, selling for $330. The second was of Connie Ryan who played from 1942-1954, making the NL All-Star team in 1944. One interesting note in the Nellie Fox listing is that it states the seller is an eBay employee.  Can't say I've seen that before.  Here are the eBay listings with pictures:

2012 Topps Action Cards

I've always had a weakness for cards that show a baseball in mid-flight, and there are quite a few of them in 2012 Topps Series 1. Here are just a few of them (and a few that just missed the cut.

2012 Topps Josh Hamilton

Josh may be having off the field issues, but I love this card (and I'm still a big Josh fan).

2012 Topps Roy Halladay

One of the best pitchers in the game doing what he does best.

2012 Topps Ricky Nolasco

Another action shot of a pitcher, this time Ricky Nolasco from the "Miami" Marlins.

2012 Topps Jason Bourgeois

Jason Bourgeois about to make a nice catch. Interesting fact from back of card: Plays for Houston, lives in Houston, born in Houston.

2012 Topps Ian Desmond

Ian Desmond leaping over a runner to turn a double play.

These two barely missed the cut since technically the ball is still in their hands.

2012 Topps Dee Gordon

Dee Gordon turning a double play.

2012 Topps Eduardo Nunez

Eduardo Nunez throwing out a base runner.

And this one get's an honorable mention. There is no mid-flight baseball, but there are three mid-flight birds that are attempting to get out of the way of a baseball and it doesn't hurt that the pic is set against the backdrop of Wrigley Field ivy.

2012 Topps Reed Johnson

Reed Johnson dodging birds to catch a ball (or watch it sail over the fence?).

Week 1 Prime 9 Card Announced

The first Prime 9 redemption card has been announced by Topps and it is Willie Mays. If you've bought any hobby or HTA jumbo packs, you've probably received some Prime 9 redemption cards. Each card has a week number on it and that determines what card you get. If your redemption card says "Week 1" on it, take it to a participating Topps dealer to get your card, and don't forget to fill out the back of the redemption card for a shot at a trip the 2012 Home Run Derby in Kansas City.

My 2012 Topps SP Pull

Nothing huge here, but I've opened one HTA jumbo box and 4 72 card retail packs so far and I've only found one short print so far...the bunny ears Tsuyoshi Nishioka #411 card. Here it is.

The Cardboard Gold Rush is On

Thanks to Craig for pointing out that the first "live" Gold Rush redemption cards have been listed. Looks like the first five card pack consisted of Daniel Hudson (already sold for $9.99), Josh Hamilton, Warren Spahn, Sandy Koufax and Albert Pujols.

The Squirrel is Down

The squirrel has been knocked from the top of the Card Tracker Top Ten and now sits in fourth place. Two 1/1 wood parallels hold the first and second spots now. While the Card Tracker was dominated by squirrel cards the first week of release, the only one still on there now is the first one listed and sold ($611).
